Founded and led by local surf expert Oldemar Fernandez – affectionately known as “Pollo” – the school embodies the relaxed, vibrant spirit of the Osa Peninsula. With over twenty years of experience, Pollo and his passionate team dedicate themselves to providing personalized, safe, and fun surf lessons for everyone from absolute beginners to intermediate surfers. Their tailored approach ensures that each student gets the time and attention needed to build confidence and skill in an environment where local culture and the beauty of nature are at the heart of every session.

Beyond the basics of surfing, Pollo Surf School offers a complete ocean adventure that goes hand in hand with Costa Rica’s renowned Pura Vida lifestyle. Using high-quality Surf Tech soft-top longboards paired with Pro Teck fins, lessons are designed to maximize learning while ensuring safety. The school also branches out into stand-up paddleboarding tours, giving participants the chance to explore calm high tide waters and encounter marine life like turtles and dolphins.
